Late Add

Late Add

A late add may be pursued only if you were unable to add a course by the add deadline due to extraordinary circumstances. If the petition for a late add is approved, you must be prepared to pay the tuition fees at the time of approval. Please note that you may be charged a Late Registration Fee if you have not registered for any other courses. Late adds are not usually approved beyond the second week of classes unless there are exceptionally well-documented extenuating circumstances involving administrative error, faculty error, or extraordinary complications.

  1. be on official UCF department letterhead;
  2. note the student's name and UCFID (formerly known as PID);
  3. state the class that is being Late Added by prefix, course number, and section number (e.g. ENC 1102.0003);
  4. give formal permission for the student to Late Add the course;
  5. be signed and dated by the instructor of record. The letter must also be dated within seven (7) business days of filing the late add petition.

If you are an Undergraduate student and have read and understood these rules and procedures and wish to continue with this process, email Academic Services from your Knightsmail e-mail account with your name, UCFID (formerly known as PID), and what type of petition you are trying to pursue (and the courses involved in your request), or come to our office in Millican Hall 210 and inform us of your desire to continue with the petition process.
